Ha Jae-hoon (32) showed his power.
The SSG Landers won 8-5 against the Doosan Bears in the 2023 Shinhan Bank Solar KBO League at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Seoul on Saturday. SSG is in third place with 58 wins, one tie, and 47 losses in 106 games.
메이저놀이터The game was a nail-biter that went down to the bottom of the 10th inning. It was a back-and-forth affair with the tide constantly turning in both teams’ favor, but SSG had the last laugh.
One of the key moments of the game was SSG outfielder Ha Jae-hoon’s two-run home run in the top of the fourth inning. In the top of the fourth inning, Ha stepped up to the plate with two outs and two runners on base. With two strikes and two balls in the count, he took a fastball from starter Raul Alcantara for a towering two-run shot. Not only was it a huge hit, but it was also a huge reaction to Alcantara’s 154-kilometer fastball. It was a monster two-run shot.
Ha went 4-for-4 with a home run, two doubles, two RBIs, and a walk on the day. This helped SSG snap a five-game losing streak on the road.

Ha, as he is widely known, has the rare ability to be a hitter, pitcher, and hitter. After playing in the U.S. minor leagues and Nippon Professional Baseball, he switched to pitching after joining SSG (then the SK Wyverns) in 2019, where his fastball helped him win the save title with 36 saves. However, after a shoulder injury in 2020, his velocity continued to decrease, so he switched back to hitting.
It wasn’t until 2022 that he returned to the mound. Sure, he was a hitter first, but it’s not easy to come back from a three-year hiatus.
What’s more, at the professional level, a pitcher’s ball is a life-threatening weapon. Hard pitches can travel upwards of 140 and 150 kilometers, heading straight for batters.
But Ha is proving his talent as a hitter again. Here, he smashed a 154-kilometer ball at Jamsil Baseball Stadium, the largest in Korea. It’s a testament to his power and talent.
