The Pittsburgh Pirates and Los Angeles Angels will face off in a three-game series starting on the 22nd.
Pittsburgh is looking for a late-season turnaround, but it hasn’t been easy, going 1-5 since the All-Star break. It will be interesting to see if Pittsburgh can continue their late-season rebound in this series against the Angels.

Choi’s Pittsburgh Pirates travel to Los Angeles to take on the Angels. Since returning from an Achilles injury, Choi is batting .265 with six home runs and six RBIs.
Most notably, his two-run homer off a left-handed pitcher in Game 3 of the last series against Cleveland was crucial in breaking the team’s losing streak.
If Choi is called up for Game 22, he will bat second against Ohtani.
In his career with Tampa Bay, Choi has gone 2-for-3 with a double and two strikeouts against Ohtani, but no hits. Can a healthy Choi showcase his swing against American League MVP Shohei Ohtani and keep the Pirates’ winning streak alive?

Meanwhile, losing pitcher Shohei Ohtani will be facing the Pirates for the first time since entering the majors.
Ohtani has been on fire at the plate, leading the majors in home runs (35), triples (7), and OPS (1.175) as of the 20th.
However, the “pitcher” is winless in July.
After dropping two games against the Astros in the first half, Ohtani took the mound in desperation, but couldn’t avoid a loss, allowing five runs in five innings.
Heading into his second start of the second half, it will be interesting to see if Ohtani can snap the losing streak against Pittsburgh.
