Starting pitcher Chris Bassett earned his 7th win of the season by fighting hard with 4 hits (1 home run), 5 strikeouts and 2 runs in 8 innings. Bassitt, who signed a three-year, $63 million (approximately 82.4 billion won) contract with Toronto this season, is doing his part by playing an active role with an average ERA of 3.29 with 6 wins and 4 losses in 13 games (82 innings). Closer Jordan Romano earned 16 saves for the season, recording one hit, one strikeout, and no run in one inning. On the other line, Bo Vichet (Season No. 14) and Brandon Belt (Season No. 4) hit home runs to lead the team to victory. 

Houston took the lead in the fourth inning with Mauricio Dubon’s hit and Jordan Alvarez’s two-run home run. 

Toronto followed up with a run in the 4th inning with a solo home run by lead batter Vichet. In the sixth inning, Belt hit a solo home run to tie the game. 

Toronto, which returned the game to the starting point, made one out, first and second bases in the 7th inning with Dalton Basho and Kevin Kiermeier picking out walks. Alejandro Kirk turned the game around with an RBI and a timely hit. 

Toronto, where starting pitcher Bassett kept the mound until the 8th inning, finished the game without conceding a run even though finisher Romano was hit with a double by lead hitter Dubon in the ninth inning and kept the victory.
