Notes on Donald Butler
2 1/2 year starter. Led UW in tackles as a Senior. Aggressive player. Will take false steps. Left some gaping holes in the middle of the field vs USC when he was coming upfield and getting out of position. That led to big plays for the Trojans. Physical player. Will take on blockers, even OL. Had an impressive play vs Idaho. Blew up a pulling OT on an outside run. Knocked him into the runner which slowed the play. OT went to the ground. Physical tackler. Has some pop. Takes good pursuit angles. At his best as a downhill player. Knocked the UCLA QB out of the game with a tough hit. Finds the football. Butler has some potential in coverage. Good pass breakup on deep crossing route vs USC. Should have been a pick, but Butler didn't show good hands at all.Productive. Had 159 solo tackles, 26.5 TFLs, and 7 FFs.

Mid-round prospect. Could thrive in a defense that lets him attack.
