So-so man cover skills. Doesn’t have great hips. Effective tackler. Has skinny legs. Limited hitter. Lacks top speed. Doesn’t really backpedal. Good burst when breaking on the ball. Just missed an INT in the bowl game. Jumped a route and got his hands on the ball, but could not bring it in. Was burned by a WR on a downfield route in the bowl game. Gave up completion that put KU inside the red zone. Did pick off a pass in the bowl game. The QB threw an awful pass that came right to DJ. Excellent tackle on WR screen vs LSU. Crept up toward the line before the snap. Saw the pass and came right up to where the WR would be and tackled Doucet for no gain.
SUMMARY
UDFA. Has some potential, but lacks ideal size and speed, and DJ isn't a big playmaker.
