Tashard Choice, Running Back
Go Back   :   Go Forward

Matt's Notes on Tashard Choice
Strong, north/south running style with very good size. Choice is best between the tackles and is patient waiting for his blocks to develop, then exploding through the hole. Gets tough yards and will break tackles. Doesn't try to make too much happen and will take a short gain when needed. Does not show great agility in the open field, however he does have good vision and instinct and can make people miss with the cutback. Very competitive kid. Does a nice job in pass protection. Has decent speed off tackle, however he is not a perimeter runner that will take it to the house much.

One of the top senior running backs in the country.
Team leader.

Tommy's Notes on Tashard Choice
Workhorse runner. Had a monster game against Miami. He ran 37 times for 204 yards. Tech controlled most of the 2nd half. The Canes only had 20 plays after halftime. Tashard is mainly a N-S runner. He's got a pretty good burst. Hits the hole hard. Not the most elusive guy, but will make some defenders miss. Has pretty good vision. Runs strong. Effort runner. Keeps his legs going until he’s tackled. Has a good stiff arm. GT got creative with him in 2007. Lined up at QB at times. Usually ran out of that set, but did throw a TD pass vs UNC. Caught 40 passes in his time at Tech. Okay receiver, but nothing special. Transferred to GT from Oklahoma because of family troubles. Needed to be closer to home. Team leader and seems like a high character guy. Played in the Senior Bowl. Had a very good showing in Mobile.

SUMMARY

3rd round prospect. Might be good enough to start in the NFL, but at least could be a very good backup RB.
