Matt's Notes on John Greco

Tommy's Notes on John Greco
4 year starter. Played RT as a Freshman, then shifted to LT for the rest of his college career. Medium build. Gets good push as a run blocker. Feisty player. Needs to get his hands up quicker in pass pro. Gets too upright when he retreats in pass pro. Opens his hips quickly in pass pro. Pretty good on the 2nd level. Gets his hands on a LB and is able to sustain the block. Able to drive DTs off the ball on run plays. Has okay feet, but isn’t a natural pass blocker. Isn’t as quick as you’d like on reach blocks. Has good awareness. Picks up stunts well. Very aware of inside moves.

SUMMARY

Greco played LT in college, but would need to play RT or G in the NFL. Better run blocker than pass blocker. Doesn't have the feet for LT in the NFL. Reaches too much against edge rushers. Good effort as a run blocker. Could develop into a solid pass blocker at RT. Strong, physical blocker. Needs to use his hands better in order to sustain blocks. Could go as early as the 3rd round, but is more likely a 4th Rd'er.
