Looks athletic. Feisty blocker. Very good effort. Struggles to block bigger DEs. Got run over by blitzing LB in bowl game. The effort is there, but lacks the bulk and power to take on bigger guys. Gets moved around. Good hands. Can reach up and pluck the ball. Does have big arms. Did 27 reps at the Combine. Caught 78 passes in his career, but played a lot every year. TE just wasn't a big part of the offense. Effective as a short receiver or on downfield throws. Has okay RAC ability, but isn't dynamic. Could play FB, H-back, or TE. Looks like he could get up in the 250 range and still move well.
SUMMARY
Day 2 guy or UDFA. Has some potential because he catches the ball well, is a willing blocker, and has some athletic ability. If only he were a little bigger, would be a good prospect. |
