Mizzou RB Derrick Washington is in trouble.  He’s accused of sexually assaulting a former tutor over the summer.  Not good.  Washington will be a Senior this year.  He totaled 1,901 yards and 27 TDs over the last 2 years.

UConn LB Greg Lloyd Jr. injured his knee last fall.  There was talk of redshirting him for this year.  Then there was talk of moving him to DE.  Coach Randy Edsall now has him listed as the starting MLB for the season opener.   Lloyd is the son of former Steelers star Greg Lloyd.  I hope Greg Jr. is healthy enough to play well this year.

MTSU QB Dwight Dasher had a great year in 2009.  Hopes were high for 2010, but there is a flaw in the slaw.  Dasher accepted a $1500 loan and will now be suspended for several games.  Dasher is one of the few players in NCAA history to rush for 1,000 yards and throw for 2,500 yards in the same season.  Hopefully he’ll only miss 3 or 4 games.

Texas A&M QB Jerrod Johnson is still recovering from offseason shoulder surgery.  He’s practicing, but isn’t yet 100 percent.  Johnson is a really intriguing prospect.  He has good size and athletic ability.  He’s playing for a former NFL guy in Mike Sherman.  Johnson has flashed big time potential in his career.  I’d love to see him have a great Senior year and help his draft status.   Johnson could go early if he has a big year.

Here’s an article on Virginia CB Ras-I Dowling.   He is a top flight prospect for the 2011 draft.  Dowling sounds like a good guy as well.
